TRAFICANT TO BE HONORED BY PI ALPHA ALPHA
Washington, D.C.-- U.S. Rep. James A. Traficant, Jr. (D--OH) will be named this Monday as an honorary member of the Pi Alpha Alpha National Honor Society for Public Affairs and Administration by the Cleveland State University chapter of the society. Pi Alpha Alpha works to promote the ideals of professionalism and integrity in the public service arena. This group of outstanding students and alumni also promote and encourage outstanding scholarship and accomplishment in the field of government affairs.
Traficant will be the keynote speaker at the society's 1997 Fall Induction Ceremony. The ceremony will be held on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 1997 AT 5:30 P.M. AT THE MATHER MANSION, 2605 EUCLID AVENUE ON THE CLEVELAND STATE UNIVERSITY CAMPUS. Traficant will discuss public service and national policies as related to his work as a Member of the United States Congress.
In July of this year, the C.S.U. Pi Alpha Alpha Advisory Board, along with its student officers, voted to extend to Traficant national honorary membership based on his "tireless work to improve the political, educational, and social conditions within our communities." Traficant said today that he was "extremely gratified to be recognized by a group that is dedicated to excellence in government. I am very proud to join the outstanding group of leaders represented among the other national honorees."2009
